View the RevBot FAQs for an overview and to become quickly acquainted with Contrieve's RevBot technology.

The Reverse Bot, or "RevBot" for short, is Contrieve’s invention of a new type of a predominately software application that enables instant communication between multiple websites, databases, and other myriad types of network nodes.  A typical RevBot solution is comprised by a RevBot (sender application), which collects and transmits information, a RevBot Receiver which catches and stages information for integration into searching applications, and optionally RevBot Efficiency and Proxy Servers to improve information flow, enhance security and manage traffic across network firewalls.

Because a RevBot™ can send any type of information to another network node such as a search engine, new revenue streams and search applications can be developed.  Since there is “no data about the data” (often called metadata), end users generally receive a jumbled mix of applicable and non-applicable results from their keyword searches. The user must weed through the non-applicable items, often a time-consuming task.  By sending metadata to a search engine, searches can be further defined producing better results.

RevBots monitor, collect, index and report information across sites using disparate technologies, allowing for integration and unified searching.  RevBots can capture any kind of data including financial data, data contained within documents and spreadsheets, audio, video and three-dimensional drawings.  Simply put, RevBots enable an automatic, systematic rules-based methodology for the retrieval of up to date, accurate information in a highly secure and cost-effective manner.

Contrieve’s Efficiency Server provides additional load balancing and backup features for network sites with heavy loads or mission critical applications.  Contrieve’s RevBot Proxy Server can even securely extend searching capability behind a corporate firewall so that protected content can now be safely indexed for searching.
