Press Release, 20 December 2004 TURNING SEARCH ENGINES INTO "RESULT ENGINES" CONTRIEVE REVBOTS PROVIDE TEN FOLD IMPROVEMENT IN RELEVANCE QUALITY, SAVING SEARCH USERS GUESSWORK AND TIME LOS ANGELES, December 20 - Contrieve announced today the advanced use of its patent pending RevBot™ technology to greatly improve the relevance of search engine results thereby saving search users time and effort. "This technology allows search engines to evolve into what we call 'result engines,'" said Contrieve CTO Harry Tarnoff.
The utilization of RevBots enable content providers to know that their content is accurately reflected in search engines, and search engine companies leverage RevBot-controlled metadata to more accurately return results over traditional search methods. "Several new features of our RevBot technology allow search engine companies and content providers to communicate and categorize content at a tremendously high level of speed and accuracy," said Contrieve CEO Jeff Klein. Studies show that in many cases, the relevance of search engine results can often be less than 10%. With the use of RevBot technology, the relevance jumps to over 90%. "Because it returns more accurate results on the first search attempt, RevBot technology virtually eliminates the repeated need of searchers to guess at and constantly refine keywords to achieve high quality search results," said Contrieve CTO Harry Tarnoff. Although the search engine industry is only one of three markets targeted by Contrieve, it is a good example of how RevBots can be used to greatly improve the quality of flow of content across computer networks. Contrieve is a network technology research and development company founded in August 2000 in response to frustrations with inefficiencies in and problems with established network operation. The goal: leverage, combine and develop technologies to automate and improve radically the speed, accuracy, trustfulness and reliability of the transfer of network data. Contrieve has filed for a number of domestic and international patents on its technology. Please see our RevBot FAQs and Search Engines sections. SAFE HARBOUR STATEMENT.
