CONTRIEVE, INC. IS NOW A PUBLICLY TRADED COMPANY

UP TO 10 MILLION SHARES ISSUED FOR TRADING


LOS ANGELES, April 20 - Contrieve announced today that it has successfully completed its paperwork and met all requirements for becoming a publicly traded company.  Up to 10 million shares have been set aside for trading, representing about 14% of the company's outstanding stock.

"Here at Contrieve's headquarters, we are all very excited about the opportunities that this step of becoming a public entity affords us, our employees, and our investors," said Contrieve Chairman Harry Tarnoff.  "The process turned out to be much smoother and more straightforward than we anticipated."

Contrieve's ticker symbol is CNTR, and it is currently being carried on the pick sheets.  In some systems, Contrieve's ticker symbol is CNTR.PK.

Contrieve develops products and services for the computer network industry.  It was founded in August 2000 in response to frustrations with inefficiencies in and problems with established network operation.  The goal:  leverage, combine and develop technologies to automate and improve radically the speed, accuracy, trustfulness and reliability of the transfer of network data.

Contrieve has filed for five domestic United States patents and one international patent.  Contrieve's Patent Counsel is Mr. Louis J. Knobbe of Knobbe Martens Olsen & Bear LLP of Irvine, California.
